- comfortable with z peripherals including SAN, storage arrays, virtual tape, and non-z technologies such as Windows and Linux
- experience in API enablement, zCX (z/OS Container Extensions and Platform), and cloud integration
- understanding of enterprise data standards, supplier management, application modernisation, reference architecture, and performance optimisation at the application layer
- skilled in managing large vendor relationships and contract negotiations
- advocate for DevSecOps and engineering excellence
