Employee Relations Advisor providing HR advisory services in a hybrid role. Handling ER cases and supporting operational management teams throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
Handle a high volume of ER cases such as disciplinary grievances, absence management, probation, AWOL, flexible working, and TUPE.
Lead on weekly operational case management meetings.
Advise line managers on informal and formal ER issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies.
Leading on case work where managers need more development.
Ensure all advice aligns with current legislation and internal policies.
Maintain accurate records of ER cases and resolutions using internal systems.
Upskill managers on handling ER matters effectively and legally.
Liaise with trade unions or employee representatives when necessary.
Track ER KPIs and contribute to service improvement strategies.
Requirements
Able to provide remote ER and face to face support for a multi-site operation.
Experience of providing HR advice in line with relevant policies and legislation.
Well organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage high volume of case work and queries to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to write clear, understandable and concise correspondence with excellent attention to detail and telephone manner.
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to confidently recommend solutions to problems/issues with a commercial approach where required.
Pro-active and practical approach to problem solving.
Good working knowledge of current employment legislation and its application in the workplace.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes.
Experience of working within a Shared Service environment or busy HR Department (Desirable).
Understanding of HR systems/technology / HR software / CRM (Desirable).
Knowledge of working within Health Care or similar (Desirable).
Currently studying or have completed CIPD level 3 as a minimum and keen to progress (Desirable).
A minimum of 3 years HR experience with a good understanding and confidence when providing practical and commercial HR advice (Desirable).
