About the role
- Technical Writing Intern creating user guides and assisting with product documentation for Tanium. Work directly with a senior mentor while gaining industry experience in technical communication.
Responsibilities
- Gain valuable, real-world experience in creating user guides and other product documentation.
- Create content that is delivered to Tanium’s customers and get feedback on how your content is received.
- Learn how technical writers work with engineering, product management, and other teams.
- Write feature documentation to include in Tanium user guides.
- Understand Tanium’s technical writing tools and publishing processes.
- Get and provide feedback through peer editing.
- Help with information architecture projects.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future.
- Available to work full-time from June 8, 2026, to August 14, 2026.
- A currently enrolled Bachelor's degree candidate in computer science, technical communication, or a related degree program. GPA of 3.5 or above REQUIRED.
- Graduating Spring 2027 or Fall 2026.
- Coursework in computer science, web development, or XML structured authoring.
- Familiar with technical writing, user experience, and information architecture principles.
- Able to share writing samples or a project portfolio.
- Excited and driven to learn new technical skills.
- Passionate about technology, software, and figuring out how things work.
- A great communicator and can collaborate with a team as well as work independently.
