Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Regional Medical Records Team
- Guide the team’s work with a focus on quality, accuracy, and accountability
- Ensure all medical record processes meet PACE laws, rules, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor performance through audits and keep team practices aligned with current industry standards
- Maintain a documented and organized system, accessible for other professionals
- Provide guidance and training to staff regarding medical record issues
- Participate in surveys and assist in development of a plan of correction for department deficiencies when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration or related field OR an Associate’s degree in RHIT (or related field) with 3–5 years of medical records experience
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience, including managing remote staff
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, documentation standards, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and related technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email/calendar systems
- Experience with electronic medical records required; EPIC preferred
