Advanced Practice Registered Nurse role providing specialized care for HIV clients at the Sanford clinic. Aimed at enhancing care coordination for HIV patients and conducting health assessments.
Responsibilities
This is a highly independent and responsible Advanced Practice Registered Nurse position with the HIV/Specialty Care Clinic.
Provide enhanced care coordination services to persons living with HIV in Seminole County.
Apply advanced nursing principles and techniques in the care and treatment of clients.
Prescribe, administer and documents medications ensuring the Rights of Medication Administration.
Be sensitive when interviewing clients about sensitive communicable disease issues such as HIV/AIDS or sexually transmitted diseases.
Conduct initial/annual physicals and well-woman health exams.
Provide comprehensive primary care across diverse patient populations.
Make appropriate referrals as indicated and evaluate immunization status.
Provide care coordination especially to newly diagnosed people living with HIV/AIDS.
Requirements
Maintain an active Florida APRN license.
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish preferred)
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and STD.
Terminology, principles and analytical techniques of interviewing; data collection and analysis principles and procedures.
Customer service skills.
Ability to prepare reports, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to Ryan White, ADAB State and Local Specialty Care HIV/AIDS Programs,
Understand and follow legislative policy direction as established in Federal and Florida Statutes;
Deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner;
Work independently, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments,
Communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
Utilize problem solving techniques and use personal computers.
