About the role

  • Payroll Tax Analyst providing subject matter expertise in payroll tax compliance and documentation. Handling federal, state, and local tax regulations for Worldwide Flight Services with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tax reconciliations and determines liability for accounts, divisions, or business units.
  • Assists in the preparation and distribution of tax forms.
  • Answers questions and research discrepancies.
  • Research, interpret, and understand existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms.
  • Modifies work procedures to reflect changes in tax law or code.
  • Support Payroll Tax and Audit Administrator in analyzing multi-state payroll tax data and perform calculations, and ensure that payroll information is reported to federal, state and local agencies as may be required.
  • Conduct Payroll Analysis for each pay cycle to ensure that payroll taxes withheld are correct with tax filings to agencies.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, providing clear explanations to employees.
  • Assist with weekly administration of payroll tax activities such as federal, state & local withholdings for assigned legal entities including distribution of tax remittances according to tax jurisdiction guidelines.
  • Support the preparation and processing of accurate and timely federal, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments.
  • Support inquiries from employees regarding W-2 issues and corrections.
  • Document tax procedures to ensure standard operation procedures (SOPs) are in place for all processes.
  • Handle all SUI & SIT Credits with management.
  • Assist Payroll Tax and Audit Administrator with all workers’ compensation, tax and unemployment audits.
  • Work closely with Payroll, Finance and Corporate Tax teams.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance or equivalent level of knowledge in a relevant field
  • 2+ years of payroll or finance experience
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll and tax regulations
  • FPC, CPP, CPA or CMA desired
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to effectively handle and resolve employee inquiries and issues
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Demonstrated high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
