Regional Enrollment Director at Unum overseeing national and regional strategic plans for employee benefits. Collaborating with external vendors to enhance enrollment strategies and drive growth across the U.S.
Responsibilities
Establish and drive long range strategic plans nationally, regionally, and at an office level to allow adaptability to fast changing Unum/Colonial Life or “enterprise” goals and market needs; providing direction to help resolve business problems.
Provide leadership level analysis on market direction including enrollment best practices, technology solutions, and data that will drive participation, growth and client satisfaction.
Represent Unum UUS and Colonial Life in key broker and finalist presentations; ability to consult and/or educate on full suite of enrollment capabilities.
Represent enterprise enrollment capabilities to grow sales and performance.
Collaborate with architects to ensure business capabilities are implemented using approved technologies and architectures for third party, client and Unum and Colonial Life developed solutions.
Support of multiple enrollment initiatives, which provide a variety of enrollment solutions to customer base.
Must understand and promote full Unum and Colonial Life marketing and product portfolio to provide direction on most effective technology, data, and benefit communication strategies and solutions to be competitive in the marketplace.
Partner with external senior leaders at technology vendors to develop enrollment & technology strategies that will drive growth, participation, and client satisfaction.
Overall management and accountability for communications to RVP’s and VPS’s on regional, office, district and territory level strategies, recommendations, etc.
Prepare detailed reports as needed to analyze data and provide insightful analysis to guide management decisions.
Proactively promote effective enrollment planning with focus on increased participation, attendance and premium generation.
Utilize expertise in Unum and Colonial Life sales performance and address strategic issues with field leadership to maximize earnings.
Partner with field leadership to promote and develop enrollment expertise within all applicable office roles with focus on excellence in enrollment strategy and execution.
Serves as a conduit between Field, Market and Unum and Colonial Life on enrollment solutions that help drive growth.
Drive and support selected enrollment programs as well as field training related to the enrollment strategy.
Partner with the cross functional management teams on various initiatives, project deliveries, etc.
May performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum undergraduate degree or relevant, equivalent business experience
7+ years experience in the employee benefits industry, previous enrollment experience preferred
Experience and track record of successfully managing a team of direct reports
Proven collaborative and negotiation skills with Technology and Business at a senior level
Strong ability to think conceptually and understand corporate goals at an enterprise level
"Boardroom Presence" - charismatic/presents good image, good presenting to senior level decision makers/clients, good on their feet, good at presenting in the client’s language
Exceptional customer service and relationship skills necessary
Ability to work effectively and independently with little supervision
Must be able to work cross-functionally with business partners with a high degree of effectiveness
Demonstrated knowledge of Unum and/or Colonial Life products, services and business processes represented in enrollment services
Excellent presentation and communication writing skills
Full understanding of enrollment and reenrollment options
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills – ability to draw meaningful business conclusions on the basis of analyzing data
Ability to proactively recommend sound and strategic ideas and execute appropriately
Ability to work with all with all levels of management
Ability to lead change
