About the role
- Fund Development Manager raising funds for Virginia Health Care Foundation through grant writing and donor management. Leading strategic fundraising initiatives and coordinating special events.
Responsibilities
- Creating and executing a plan for fund development, in conjunction with the CEO and Fund Development Committee.
- Leading all grant writing, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Researching, identifying, and pursuing grant and sponsorship opportunities from corporations and foundations.
- Maintaining and enhancing donor records, grants tracking systems, and fund development databases.
- Working with program team members to ensure funds are expended per donor direction.
- Developing VHCF’s annual fund development plan and future fundraising roadmap.
- Planning and overseeing the implementation of special events of the Foundation.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree in public administration, healthcare administration, or nonprofit management a plus.
- Proven track record in grant writing or other fund development work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Virginia’s healthcare landscape and the challenges facing uninsured and underserved populations.
- Understanding of state government and legislative processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, donor management systems, and other digital tools.
- Self-starter who thrives in a hybrid work environment.
- Passionate about advancing VHCF’s mission.
