Health and Safety Manager ensuring workplace safety and environmental compliance at Pacific Coast Producers. Managing health and safety programs with a focus on regulatory adherence and employee well-being.
Responsibilities
Champion health and safety awareness across the facility by modeling safe behaviors and staying informed about the latest in environmental, health, and safety compliance, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
Develop and implement health and safety procedures, policies, and guidelines to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify potential risks.
Collaborate with employees and management to mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe practices promptly.
Serve as the primary health and safety point of contact for third parties, including neighboring businesses, local councils, and regulatory bodies.
Support environmental compliance efforts related to NPDES, Process Risk Management Program (RMP), hazardous materials, and waste management.
Participate in incident investigations.
Prepare and present health and safety reports as requested.
Deliver health and safety training and participate actively in operational and committee meetings.
Facilitate emergency evacuation procedures and other safety drills.
Manage Respirator, Confine Space, Air Monitoring, Forklift Certification and other programs.
Undertake additional duties as required to support the facility’s Health and Safety objectives.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of relevant Health and Safety experience, including site remediation, with at least 2 years in management capacity.
Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Previous manufacturing experience; experience in the food and/or beverage industry preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
Knowledge of safety compliance.
