About the role
- Construction Project Manager overseeing commercial projects and trade coordination at Gray Construction. Driving project financials, schedules, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination of interrelating activities of trade partners, suppliers, vendors, and customers, design, and engineering efforts
- Responsible for organizational, leadership, communication, management, and problem-solving skills on the project(s)
- Monitor and report on the financial status of the project(s) and is responsible for subcontract and contract administration
- Heavy involvement in the development of job progress schedule to ensure actual construction parallels with the schedule
- Purchase and monitor delivery of all needed materials for the projects ensuring optimum prices, quality, and conformance to specifications
- Negotiate contracts with trade partners and vendors for their trade scope of responsibility
- Evaluate change order requests from trade partners in a timely fashion
- Work with design and engineering teams to ensure projects are designed, procured, and constructed within operating guidelines while conforming to technical requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present reports to successfully manage project(s) such as monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings, status reports, etc.
- Organize and maintain job files to ensure continuity of workflow
- Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with scope of work for their scope of responsibility
- May be responsible for estimating efforts relative to the project(s) and proposal preparation efforts.
- Responsible for the communication, implementation, and enforcement of Gray’s safety and quality programs on site.
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of experience in construction management
- Technical knowledge and experience supporting projects in a Project Manager I role or equivalent
- Successfully completed at least two projects in a Project Manager I role or equivalent
- Preference for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, mobile devices, and innovative programs/software provided by Gray.
