About the role
- Senior Server Administrator responsible for managing server infrastructure and virtual environments at OMEXOM. Enhancing system performance and ensuring operational reliability in a growing IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the server infrastructure (Windows/Linux)
- Administer and build virtualization environments using Microsoft Windows Hyper-V
- Monitor server performance and resource utilization
- Maintain monitoring systems such as PRTG, SmokePing, CheckMK
- Monitor regular system backups (VEEAM)
- Implement security measures to protect systems
- Troubleshoot and provide support for technical issues
- Participate in 1st and 2nd level support
- Maintain IT documentation in Atlassian Confluence
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering) or completed training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) (m/f/d)
- Several years of experience in server and system administration preferred
- Solid knowledge of administering Windows environments
- Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization solutions
- Knowledge of subnetting, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
- Problem-solving skills, structured working style, analytical thinking
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Fluent in German and English
