About the role
- FinOps Specialist collaborating with IT and finance teams for cloud cost management. Responsible for implementing frameworks to support Marsh’s broader organizational goals in India.
Responsibilities
- Grow a high-performing FinOps function responsible for cloud cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting across Marsh’s cloud portfolio.
- Define and implement cloud financial management frameworks, policies and best practices that drive a cost-conscious mindset, cost efficiency and business value.
- Partner with the Marsh Cloud Business Office, IT Directors, Technology Product Managers (TPMs) and Finance team to align cloud investments with strategic priorities.
- Oversee cloud resource management, including Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accuracy, right-sizing initiatives, and reservation/savings plan optimization.
- Drive adoption of FinOps tools and reporting platforms to provide actionable insights and transparent reporting to stakeholders.
- Be a FinOps Subject Matter Expert, partnering with cloud architects and engineering teams, guiding design and tactical cost savings.
Requirements
- Proven experience running FinOps or cloud financial management functions in complex, global organizations.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially AWS and Azure, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for cloud environments.
- Experience with FinOps tools such as Densify, FinOut, AWS cost explorer and cloud scheduling platforms.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data and present clear insights.
- Technical Acumen to collaborate with architects and engineers.
- Working knowledge of key technologies such as Kubernetes, Serverless, and Cloud Native tools.
