About the role
- VMware/Azure Local Solution Architect responsible for designing and guiding on-premises VMware migrations to Azure Local. Collaborating with teams to ensure successful architectural outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design and document end-to-end solutions leveraging VMware virtualization technologies and Microsoft Azure Local services.
- With the support of the Enterpriser Architect align technical assessments, baselining activities and readiness analyses to support infrastructure decision-making.
- Provide expert guidance on workload migration, with specific emphasis on transitioning VMware workloads to Azure Local.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, storage, networking and application teams to ensure cohesive architectural outcomes.
- Apply and promote established best practices, governance frameworks and architectural patterns with support of the Enterprise Architect.
- Serve as a technical escalation point throughout design, deployment, and operational phases.
Requirements
- 8-10+ year of expertise as Solution Architect.
- Strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies.
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Azure Local services and capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in workload migration from VMware to Azure Local.
- Strong understanding of (hybrid) networking (CISCO ACI), identity and access management and security models.
- Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) in English.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both spoken and written.
- Team-oriented mindset, goal-driven, and proactive in driving architectural outcomes.
