About the role
- Senior Accountant overseeing financial reporting and transformation initiatives at KARL STORZ. Leading hybrid role with a focus on month-end close and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and corrections
- Draft high-quality commentary and supporting documentation for audits
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data
- Review and improve existing accounting processes
- Lead projects and provide guidance to Staff Accountants
- Conduct GAAP research and prepare position papers
- Reconcile intercompany balances and leverage tools for accuracy and efficiency
- Clearly explain transactions using T-Accounts
- Create documentation for accounting procedures and recurring deliverables
Requirements
- 5+ years in accounting (including 2+ years in public accounting preferred)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, G/L transactions, and GAAP
- Proven ability to implement process improvements
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and lead projects
- Experience with SAP
- Knowledge of Tableau and AI tools
- Audit experience
