- Plant Manager overseeing daily operations across multiple production plants at FUCHS lubricant manufacturing facility in Harvey, IL. Leading teams and ensuring optimal manufacturing processes and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across multiple on‑site production plants either directly or through subordinates.
- Ensures safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes and operational discipline that focuses on a robust housekeeping program and safety culture.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company objectives to establish safety, quality, and production standards, including developing budgets and cost controls to ensure optimal service levels of supply.
- Develop, track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze variances, and implement cost‑effective operational improvements to drive Operational Excellence.
- Engage with employees to support a positive company culture that also endorses and supports the business strategy and core values.
- Identify efficiency opportunities and lead cross-functional kaizen events to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance reliability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers, production supervisors, and support staff across multiple plants.
- Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, engagement, and teamwork.
Requirements
- BS in STEM related discipline required, preferably Engineering, Supply Chain or Chemistry.
- 5+ years of Plant Manager experience in a batch process facility strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage change within a group and build strong interdependent teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience with applicable EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Experience with ISO, TS, IATF and other industry standards.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
- Experience with visual factory environment, housekeeping standards and/or 5s/6s.
