About the role
- Property and Asset Manager for Community Housing Network maintaining safe and high-quality affordable housing communities. Conduct inspections and coordinate repairs for properties across southeast Michigan.
Responsibilities
- The Property and Asset Manager is a field‑focused role responsible for ensuring Community Housing Network’s affordable housing communities are safe, well‑maintained, and operating at high physical standards.
- Conduct regular property inspections.
- Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and preventative maintenance needs.
- Develop and monitor preventive maintenance plans.
- Oversee unit turns and readiness standards.
- Document findings and track resolution.
- Ensure compliance with HUD and safety inspection standards.
- Coordinate repairs and capital projects.
- Prepare scopes of work and obtain bids.
- Oversee contractors and ensure quality completion.
- Approve completed work and invoices.
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule.
- Support HUD, HOME and LIHTC compliance.
- Maintain property condition records.
- Assist with lease enforcement related to property condition.
- Contribute to maintenance and budgeting.
- Maintain occupancy certifications and documentation.
- Conduct annual resident income recertifications by gathering required verification documents.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in property inspections, facilities oversight or maintenance coordination.
- Experience managing repair projects and contractors.
- Ability to identify building deficiencies and safety issues.
- Property management software experience (Yardi or Onesite).
- Valid Real Estate License or ability/willingness to obtain.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist for HUD or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile coverage limits minimum: Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence Property Damage $100,000 each occurrence.
