About the role
- Vice President II overseeing strategic business operations at Centene. Driving organizational culture, strategy, and internal/external communications for health programs.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a thought partner to the executive leadership team, providing vision, strategy, and operational leadership
- Serves as a trusted confidant and advisor, overseeing high-level projects and initiatives
- Plan, track, and monitor the progress of key priorities and strategic initiatives for the leadership team
- Assist leadership teams with strategy development, strategic planning, and financial and vendor management planning
- Partner with key stakeholders to prioritize business needs and initiatives
- Manage critical aspects of deliverables, including drafting correspondence and other tasks
- Manage communications on behalf of the leadership team
- Prepare documents for internal and external audiences
- Provide vendor governance including all financial, technology, RFPs, rate setting and operational processes
- Identify risks and opportunities associated with future profitability and member retention
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business, communications or related field or equivalent experience required
- Master's Degree in a related field preferred
- 10+ years management experience
- 10+ years of experience in communications, health plan operations and strategy, change management, project management, or vendor management required
- Prior experience in healthcare or large-scale service industry required
- Experience supporting executive level management and driving interdepartmental collaboration required
- Leadership experience and skills required
- Experience with accounting practices, state reporting requirements, and rate setting activities preferred
