Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee company’s fleet and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional.
Schedule routine maintenance, plan new projects and perform emergency repairs.
Own transport OTIF / SLA performance, including dock‑time adherence for strategic customers.
Ensure zero‑defect execution: right vehicle, right driver, right documentation, right time.
Lead service recovery during disruptions and ensure clear escalation and communication.
Oversee daily and tactical transport planning and execution.
Ensure plan stability and minimal last‑minute re‑planning.
Partner with the Control Tower to enable exception‑led, predictive execution.
Ensure capacity is aligned to forecast and program ramps.
Manage transport cost vs budget (cost per unit / km / trip).
Reduce premium freight, expediting, and unplanned spending.
Drive network, routing, and load optimization initiatives.
Validate savings and cost avoidance with Finance.
Ensure full compliance with transport regulations.
Own safety performance and accident reduction.
Act as escalation owner for serious incidents.
Ensure fleet availability, roadworthiness, and readiness.
Ensure driver availability, attendance, and capability.
Work closely with Fleet and Driver Managers to resolve systemic issues.
Manage carrier and subcontractor performance.
Support sourcing, onboarding, and performance reviews of transport partners.
Drive process improvement across planning, execution, and reporting.
Lead and develop transport teams.
Requirements
Previous operational experience of Fleet in an logistics environment.
Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Time management skills with the competence to manage multiple priorities at once.
Proficient with MS Office skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
