About the role

  • Transport Manager maintaining and overseeing fleet operations for a global logistics company. Scheduling maintenance and ensuring compliance and efficiency in transport operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee company’s fleet and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional.
  • Schedule routine maintenance, plan new projects and perform emergency repairs.
  • Own transport OTIF / SLA performance, including dock‑time adherence for strategic customers.
  • Ensure zero‑defect execution: right vehicle, right driver, right documentation, right time.
  • Lead service recovery during disruptions and ensure clear escalation and communication.
  • Oversee daily and tactical transport planning and execution.
  • Ensure plan stability and minimal last‑minute re‑planning.
  • Partner with the Control Tower to enable exception‑led, predictive execution.
  • Ensure capacity is aligned to forecast and program ramps.
  • Manage transport cost vs budget (cost per unit / km / trip).
  • Reduce premium freight, expediting, and unplanned spending.
  • Drive network, routing, and load optimization initiatives.
  • Validate savings and cost avoidance with Finance.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations.
  • Own safety performance and accident reduction.
  • Act as escalation owner for serious incidents.
  • Ensure fleet availability, roadworthiness, and readiness.
  • Ensure driver availability, attendance, and capability.
  • Work closely with Fleet and Driver Managers to resolve systemic issues.
  • Manage carrier and subcontractor performance.
  • Support sourcing, onboarding, and performance reviews of transport partners.
  • Drive process improvement across planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Lead and develop transport teams.

Requirements

  • Previous operational experience of Fleet in an logistics environment.
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Time management skills with the competence to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Proficient with MS Office skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
