Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Tier II spend categories, with a focus on industrial automation components
Manage contracts and long-term agreements for all Tier II suppliers
Aggregate usage data to develop accurate forecasts that inform supplier negotiations and commitments
Lead supplier negotiations to secure best-in-class pricing, terms, and continuity of supply
Support global manufacturing strategies, considering geopolitical risks and future expansion into new markets
Identify, evaluate, and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate risk, reduce cost, and ensure quality and reliability
Collaborate with engineering during new product introduction (NPI) to select optimal sources and negotiate agreements prior to launch
Stay current on emerging technologies relevant to Symbotic’s development strategy and promote adoption where beneficial
Partner with direct suppliers to ensure Tier II sourcing strategies align with overall supplier management
Conduct cost/benefit and risk analyses to support sourcing recommendations and continuous improvement
Monitor supplier performance across delivery, quality, cost, and risk; drive corrective actions as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain
Expert knowledge of industrial automation components and suppliers (PLCs, I/O, data/power cables, motors, VFDs, power transfer components, safety fencing, MDR technology, cameras, sensors, scanners)
Advanced analytics skills, with expertise in Excel and other data analysis tools
Strong ability to interpret and analyze engineering BOMs and technical prints
Familiarity with Teamcenter a plus
Proven experience in supplier negotiation and management for multi-million-dollar spend
Demonstrated ability to build processes and workflows where none previously existed
