About the role
- Senior Accounting Financial Analyst at Credit Acceptance focusing on general ledger transactions and financial reporting. Preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for internal audit and external auditors.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounting for transactions within the general ledger
- Preparation of the monthly internal financial statement package
- Provide reporting and analysis that clearly communicates actual and forecasted financial performance
- Provide financial information to support team members to make sound business decisions
- Preparation of various financial statement supporting schedules on a quarterly basis for the External Reporting team, Internal Audit team, and external auditors
- Prepare and record accurate monthly general ledger journal entries by scheduled deadlines
- Prepare clear, concise and accurate analytic explanations for general ledger account and financial statement line item variances by scheduled deadlines
- Prepare accurate monthly general ledger account reconciliations by scheduled deadlines
- Prepare and distribute accurate monthly internal financial reports by scheduled deadlines
- Maintain effective internal controls by complying with written policies and procedures
- Prepare accurate financial statement supporting schedules by scheduled deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience (general ledger duties, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation)
- Experience writing financial analytics for executive-level users
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Proficiency with MS Access
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent (i.e. - Chartered Accountant)
- Experience in the Financial Services industry
- Proficiency with SAS
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials
- Experience designing and implementing process improvements
