Advanced chassis engineer in functional architecture team for brake systems on Ford & Lincoln products. Responsible for system design and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Act as the single point of contact for the brake team to program/planning teams for future model year programs and attend program meetings as the lead for brakes.
Lead the brake systems checkpoint paper creation and present to management at each milestone.
Lead weekly brake PMT meetings to track progress to deliverables and keep the brake D&R’s informed of any program changes.
Support Team of 4 meetings to deliver sourcing documents on time to supply chain team.
Support cost loops and cost target setting process
Lead team to make sure all parts and cost are correctly captured.
Work with cost ops team to set OCE cost for all components.
Lead brainstorming meetings to create cost reduction ideas
Lead new component design / package maturation in CAD.
Oversee brake system integration & installation, working with body, electrical, powertrain, vehicle operations, and vehicle architecture.
Early supplier engagement/interface for advanced concepts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, mechanical engineering preferred
5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
2+ years of automotive experience preferred.
Strong cross-functional & communication skills.
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of mechanical integration & installation requirements, package & assembly.
Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX is a plus.
Experience with underhood / underbody / dash package & mechanical integration/installation a plus.
