Principal Hardware Engineer working on the Sentinel program at Northrop Grumman. Designing custom systems and collaborating with Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical engineers in Colorado.
Responsibilities
This position will join the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Engineering team.
Support a team of Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical responsible engineers in the design of a diverse set of custom and commercial-off-the-shelf systems and components.
Incorporates edits and redlines to existing designs.
Facilitates ingest of supplier drawings into the Sentinel program too set and workflow.
Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
Makes layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in degree plus 5 years of experience, or Master's with 3 years of experience, or PHD with 1 year of experience or 4 years in lieu of degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
Must have at least 1 year of experience in generating 3-dimensional CAD models of electronic components and assemblies using tools such as Siemens NX.
Must have at least 1 year of experience generating and releasing engineering artifacts into Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Siemens TeamCenter.
Must have familiarity with the application of industry standards for mechanical modeling and engineering release such as ASME Y14.24.
