About the role
- Junior Environmental Consultant at WSP focusing on geoecology and landscape ecology. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team on environmental planning and soil/water projects in Niedersachsen.
Responsibilities
- Conducting surveys and mapping of flora and fauna and assessing habitats
- Planning and carrying out fieldwork, including sampling of media (water, soil, and waste) with a focus on Lower Saxony
- Supervising on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with all environmental permit requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinating, analyzing, and documenting fieldwork and laboratory analyses
- Preparing investigation reports, documentation, and expert assessments
- Supervision during drilling and remediation measures
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company-internal occupational health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Completed university degree (Bachelor, Master, Diplom) in Geoecology / Landscape Ecology / Geosciences or an equivalent qualification
- Initial experience in faunal mapping, for example of breeding birds and amphibians
- Knowledge of biotope mapping desirable
- Knowledge of nature conservation permitting procedures desirable
- Initial experience in soil and/or groundwater investigations
- Proven very good written and spoken German
- Good written and spoken English desirable
- Driving license class B
