Space Planning and Estate Development Manager at Vodafone shaping retail estate for optimal operations and customer experience.
Responsibilities
You’ll play a key role in shaping our retail estate so it works harder for both our customers and our business
You’ll look at the big picture as well as the day to day detail — balancing long term estate strategy with practical delivery on the ground
Working closely with teams across Retail Operations, Commercial, Brand and Property (plus our external partners), you’ll use insight, data and creativity to make sure our stores are commercially strong, operationally efficient and ready for the future
Develop and evolve our long term retail estate strategy, including decisions around store footprint and location
Lead scenario planning for how the estate could change over time, using market trends and insights to spot opportunities for optimisation
Partner with Security, Health & Safety and Operations teams to identify risks and put the right mitigations in place, ensuring a safe and compliant environment
Own the space planning framework and design principles across all store formats within the MergeCo estate, making sure layouts support commercial performance, service efficiency and smooth customer flow
Translate commercial goals, operational needs and brand storytelling into clear, practical spatial standards
Build and lead strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers to support the ongoing evolution of the estate
Use data, analytics and industry insight to explore and evaluate emerging retail formats and new ways of trading
Requirements
A strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of the wider retail landscape
Knowledgeable in space planning systems and the processes needed to implement them effectively
Confident in customer journey design and visual merchandising principles
Comfortable balancing long term vision with hands on, day to day delivery
Highly collaborative and influential, able to bring together diverse (and sometimes competing) stakeholders
Customer centric, with a genuine passion for creating engaging and meaningful retail experiences
A clear and confident communicator, able to translate complex spatial requirements into compelling, easy to understand stories for senior stakeholders
Comfortable making recommendations and driving decisions in ambiguous or fast evolving environments
