About the role

  • HR Business Partner acting as a strategic advisor for Austrian teams, translating business goals into effective people plans. Focused on engagement, development, and compliance with local labor laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic, proactive people support across Austrian business areas
  • Support talent, culture, and performance initiatives that drive engagement and growth
  • Ensure people practices align with Austrian labour law and EU regulations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, supporting organisational design, change, and workforce planning
  • Partner on performance and development, helping managers set clear expectations, give meaningful feedback, and grow their teams
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and L&D to align hiring and development with business needs
  • Use people data and insights to inform decisions, highlight trends, and report on key HR metrics
  • Support employee relations cases in line with Austrian employment law, ensuring a fair, consistent, and values-led approach
  • Partner with or support engagement with works councils (Betriebsrat) where required
  • Co-create and implement people policies and initiatives that support a great employee experience across multiple regions
  • Drive engagement and culture initiatives within your business areas
  • Contribute to wider People Team priorities and cross-functional projects

Requirements

  • Experience in an HR Business Partner / People Partner role, ideally in a fast-paced or scaling environment
  • Strong knowledge of Austrian labour law and HR best practices
  • Experience working in a European or multi-country environment
  • Business-savvy, with the ability to connect people strategy to commercial outcomes
  • Confident coaching and supporting managers at all levels
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills—you influence with credibility and empathy
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong organisational and project management skills
  • Comfortable using people data and metrics to inform decisions
  • Relevant HR qualification (e.g. CIPD, university degree, or Austrian equivalent)
  • Fluent in German and English
  • **Desirable:**
  • Experience working with works councils (Betriebsrat)
  • Experience supporting international or multi-entity organisations
  • Experience in high-growth or scaling businesses
  • Exposure to UK and/or US people practices
  • Experience leading or supporting change and transformation initiatives
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity
