About the role

  • Plant Manager leading a large-scale manufacturing facility in Toronto, overseeing operations and driving safety and performance. Ideal role for experienced operations leaders in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a multi-shift manufacturing facility of approximately 120 employees, ensuring production, quality, and shipping targets are achieved
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for labour relations, building and maintaining effective relationships within a unionized environment
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive operational efficiencies
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S methodologies, to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Develop and support leadership capability within the plant through coaching, mentorship, and performance management
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within a large manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience managing labour relations in a unionized setting
  • Strong background in chemical processing, fibre, or a related heavy industrial sector
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and drive operational and cultural change.
