About the role

  • Senior Technical Architect at SUSE leading complex customer engagements with SUSE technologies. Delivering advanced technical configurations and automation scripting to enhance customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical architect for SUSE technologies, providing strategic guidance and expertise to customers.
  • Work with customers to design and deploy solutions based on SUSE technologies, ensuring their successful implementation.
  • Carry out advanced hands-on configuration and coding activities as required to address customer requirements.
  • Maintain an advanced-level understanding of the SUSE portfolio of products, staying current with new releases and features.
  • Possess a significant understanding of complementary technologies, such as other distributions of Linux, Kubernetes, etc., leveraging this knowledge to provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Provide Scoping activity for all engagement types, including large-scale and complex customer use cases, demonstrating expertise in Scoping Activity.
  • Able to demonstrate the impact and articulate the benefits of SUSE technologies for users as it relates to their specific use case.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with users and establish contact with their management as required, showcasing strong Relationship Building.
  • Own entire customer engagement, ensuring successful project delivery and customer satisfaction (scope and timeline).
  • Provide internal feedback and make constructive suggestions to improve Services offerings, contributing to Process Improvement.
  • Understand feature requests and advocate for customers and users with Product Management and/or Engineering, influencing product development.
  • Work with existing customers to improve customer satisfaction, actively driving positive outcomes.
  • Work effectively in a proactive manner with both customers and colleagues, including working across Regions, e.g., to share Best Practices and foster Teamwork.
  • Assist with effective mentorship to new joiners and/or more junior team members, demonstrating your Mentoring capabilities.
  • Demonstrate extensive customer service and communication skills at all levels, ensuring clear and effective interactions.
  • Proactively seek feedback and utilize it to develop new skills and/or strengthen existing skills, embodying a Growth Mindset.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing automation scripts for system configurations and deployments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of related open source and cloud-native technologies (e.g., other Linux distributions, Kubernetes).
  • Expert ability to manage and lead customer engagements from initiation to completion.
  • Experience in guiding and developing less experienced technical professionals.
  • Advanced understanding of a range of SUSE's products and solutions portfolio.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in leading scoping activities for various engagement types, including large and complex use cases.
  • Advanced expertise in deploying SUSE solutions.
  • Strong ability to design robust solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Proven skills in optimizing deployed solutions for performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in managing expectations and relationships with various stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Strong collaborative skills, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Advanced ability to design and implement technical architectures using SUSE technologies.
  • Strong technical experience with IT systems administration, scripting, automation and development.
