About the role
- Intermediate Environmental Consultant conducting environmental and socio-economic research for power and renewable energy projects in Canada. Supporting client relationships and project delivery in a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Conducting environmental and socio-economic research (primary and secondary source research)
- Supporting intermediate and senior staff with managing client relationships and projects delivery
- Working in a team environment
- Work with our team on significant power, renewable energy, and mining projects
- Supporting day-to-day implementation of small to large-scale multidisciplinary environmental impact assessments
- Report writing, research, and desktop studies
- Multidisciplinary team coordination
- Implementing consultation and engagement programs
- Supporting business development activities
- Assisting with project management duties including budget, scope, and schedule tracking
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law/policy)
- 5+ years experience required (experience in power/renewables/mining preferred)
- Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- An understanding of Indigenous communities in Canada
- An understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements
- Experience in a similar role in an environmental consulting environment is considered an asset
- An understanding of international environmental and social impact assessment standards is an asset
- Ability to travel within Canada periodically, as required (up to 10% of the time)
