Responsibilities
Being an integral member of the test team, deliver quality output by executing product Firmware testing with laser focus on quality and adherence to project schedules
To scope, plan and execute the test strategy in an Agile environment.
Execute test activities for sustenance releases to address field issues, feature enhancements, critical defect fixes through mix of white box and black box testing.
Bring up or manage test automation framework for utilizing various optical instruments (OSA, Oscilloscope, VOA, Optical switch, wave shaper etc.,) using third party vendor libraries and build product drivers, test cases from scratch for optical performance tests.
Strategize with HW, ASIC, FW, ODVT and SW teams and proactively derive practical fixes which needs to be merged into development code base to create sustenance release(s)
Perform Root Cause Analysis for customer found defects and enhance test plans to cover the customer scenarios.
Ensure world-class quality for product and features being tested.
Requirements
BS/MS with min of 8+ years’ experience in the area of telecom product testing in testing embedded telecommunication systems, Transponder/Muxponder, ROADM/DWDM technologies and relevant standards (OTN/SONET/SDH /ETH).
Knowledge on Next generation Client (Grey optics) and Line side coherent optics (QSFPDD, OSFP) that are capable for transporting various rates of traffic - 100G, 200G, 400G, 800G etc.,
Experience in working in a cross functional product development environment involved in testing carrier-class telecommunication products(s)
Experience in working collaboratively with a geographically separated test team
Experience in developing test strategy, test plans using system requirements, participating in requirement reviews, design reviews and test plan reviews
Experience in using test equipment Optical analyzer, power meter, VOA, OSA, Optical Switch, Wave shaper, EDFAs, Traffic generators
Experience in using defect tracking tools and test repository tools/applications
Demonstrate technical leadership qualities in driving innovative and efficient test methodologies
Experience in Python is must, knowledge with py-test is added advantage.
Candidate must be a quick-learner and self-starter, energetic, flexible and positive.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical
Experience with JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, software version control (GIT) and bug tracking systems required
