About the role
- Financial Accountant managing month-end close and financial reporting for Newcross Healthcare. Working collaboratively to ensure compliance and accuracy across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
- Own the Numbers - Take the lead on month-end close and financial reporting, delivering accurate, insightful management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Drive Accuracy & Control - Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, post key journals, and ensure robust audit trails—keeping everything watertight and compliant.
- Lead Month-End - Own the full cycle and produce weekly profit reports and monthly flash reporting that stakeholders rely on.
- Shape Statutory Reporting & Audit - Prepare year-end statutory accounts and consolidated reports in line with UK GAAP and Gibraltar standards.
- Be the Expert in Tax & Compliance - Manage VAT returns and contribute to corporation tax reporting.
- Influence Cashflow & Business Health - Support daily cashflow management and assist with banking and payments.
- Connect the Group - Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Improve & Innovate - Identify opportunities to enhance systems and automate processes.
- Partner with the Business - Working closely with finance colleagues and non-finance stakeholders.
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong experience in financial accounting and month-end close
- Proven experience with statutory accounts and audits
- Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel skills and systems confidence
- Analytical mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Highly organised with strong ownership and accountability
- Professional, reliable, and driven by integrity
- Experience in healthcare or resourcing (Desirable)
- Exposure to group or international reporting (Desirable)
