Responsibilities
Provides primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2
Performs physical examinations and may perform specialty procedures
Provides answers to patients' questions and educates them on care
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
Formulates plans and prognosis based on patient's condition
Prescribes or recommends treatments such as physical therapy and inhalation therapy
Refers patients to the physician for consultation
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience as a bedside registered nurse in a level III NICU
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Meets requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner
