About the role

  • Nurse Practitioner providing primary and critical care to neonates and children up to age 2. Working primarily in L&D with additional responsibilities in patient care and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provides primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2
  • Performs physical examinations and may perform specialty procedures
  • Provides answers to patients' questions and educates them on care
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
  • Formulates plans and prognosis based on patient's condition
  • Prescribes or recommends treatments such as physical therapy and inhalation therapy
  • Refers patients to the physician for consultation

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a bedside registered nurse in a level III NICU
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Meets requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner
  • Specialty, based on area of practice, experience required
