FPGA Engineer developing innovative solutions integrating FPGAs for military and cybersecurity projects. Engaging in firmware engineering with a focus on continuous development and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Engage and work alongside engineers of all disciplines who are passionate about technology and applying it to the nationally critical projects in which they work.
Become part of the established Firmware engineering community that has a heavy emphasis on developing talent through in-depth internal training, mentoring, knowledge sharing and social events.
Help to develop industry leading products that use FPGAs as a key enabling technology for high-speed packet processing, implementation of complex algorithms and security enforcing functions.
Be exposed to a modern FPGA development environment that utilises the latest tools and Continuous Integration methods.
Requirements
Strong understanding of low-level FPGA physical characteristics and how to write VHDL to achieve optimal efficiency and timing closure.
Experience targeting AMD FPGA and System on a Chip (SoC) devices, including the AXI protocol.
Proficient in FPGA simulation using Siemens QuestaSim tools.
Experience with modern verification methodologies (e.g. OSVVM & CoCoTB).
Experience in using AMD FPGA build tools (ISE & Vivado).
Good technical documentation skills.
Ability to utilise, develop and maintain scripted build flows (TCL/ Python).
Experience with modern, team-based version control systems (Git).
Understanding of Continuous Integration approaches and tools (e.g. Gitlab & Docker).
Driven, adaptable, innovative, self-starter capable of quickly assimilating information from a range of sources.

£3,000 to £6,000 DV Bonus – please note this level of clearance isn’t essential for this role. This bonus is subject to individual clearance and project requirements – discussed upon application.
