About the role

Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning and support of virtualization servers as well as the associated infrastructure servers and other components in the hardware and software environment
- Administration of complex virtual infrastructures based on IBM Power
- Knowledge of VMware, Nutanix and Hyper-V platforms is an advantage
- Creation of operational documentation and technical solution concepts for a scalable infrastructure
- Participation in the on-call rotation
- Collaboration in international project teams and support for project management
- Responsible for capacity management and release management
- Responsible for monitoring and maintenance, incident management, and planning and implementation of changes
- Continuous optimization, automation and further development of the existing infrastructure—primarily on IBM Power but also on VMware, Nutanix and Hyper-V hypervisors
- Coordination of internal maintenance
- Experience in and ability to troubleshoot issues in hypervisor environments
- Proactive system optimization to prevent outages
- Member of the Virtualization & Compute expert team
- Working with our processes based on ITIL
Requirements
- Vocational training in IT (e.g., IT specialist) or a completed degree in computer science or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in virtualization with IBM Power in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of VMware, Nutanix and Hyper-V platforms is an advantage
- Knowledge of automation/scripting languages is an advantage
- Experience with server hardware maintenance
- High level of commitment and motivation
- IBM Power certification is an advantage
- Project management experience is an advantage
- Good English skills to work effectively in an international team
- Strong team and communication skills, problem-solving ability, and an analytically structured, self-organized working style
