About the role

  • As an IT Support Engineer, you will assist employees with IT challenges while ensuring stable operations. Work between onsite and remote support for the company.

Responsibilities

  • You professionally receive, analyze, and independently handle incoming IT support requests.
  • You competently assist our employees with hardware and software issues.
  • You reliably perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstation PCs, peripherals, and standard software.
  • At the Karlsruhe site, you serve as the onsite support contact.
  • You are also responsible for remote support for our other Forterro locations.
  • You regularly visit sites across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
  • You carefully document incidents, resolutions, and changes in the ticketing system.
  • For more complex issues, you escalate inquiries to Second Level Support.
  • You actively support rollouts, hardware renewals, and smaller IT projects.

Requirements

  • You have completed an IT-related vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) or hold a comparable qualification.
  • You have initial experience in First Level Support or an IT helpdesk.
  • Good knowledge of Windows clients, O365, standard business software, and common IT endpoints.
  • Linux knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong service orientation, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanor.
  • You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner.
  • Willingness to undertake regular business travel.
  • You hold a valid driver's license (Class B).
  • Very good English language skills and good German language skills complete your profile.
