Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to professionals; identify team training/capacity-building needs, feedback, and specific requirements for the BSL-3 area.
Develop customized training materials or select external providers for courses, workshops, and capacity-building programs.
Conduct training sessions with internal and external instructors to equip staff in BSL-3 biosafety practices and other relevant areas.
Foster an organizational culture focused on the continuous development of biosafety competencies, encouraging ongoing updates to knowledge and practice.
Research and interpret national and international biosafety standards to ensure they are understood and properly applied by all stakeholders.
Ensure that the training laboratory and its equipment are maintained in proper condition for training, including upkeep of building facilities and safety equipment.
Support training logistics, including registrations, selection processes, development and organization of curricular content, and the delivery of BSL-3 biosafety capacity-building activities.
Provide support in discussions related to BSL-3 biosafety and any other necessary assistance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (Biomedicine, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Medicine, or related fields).
Master's degree, PhD, or Postdoctoral training in Biological Sciences or related areas.
Advanced English proficiency.
Experience designing and delivering lectures, presentations, and/or trainings.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of principles, good laboratory practices, personal protective equipment (PPE), and procedures across different microbiological biosafety levels, with emphasis on BSL-3.
Extensive hands-on laboratory experience in biosafety, including prior scientific projects conducted in a BSL-3 laboratory in the field of microbiology.
Practical understanding of educational programs in the biological sciences.
Specific knowledge of national and international biosafety regulations.
