About the role

  • Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement at Dayton Children's facilitating partnerships and ensuring compliant documentation. Collaborates extensively with clinical and coding leadership for accurate patient data reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates strategic partnership within the organization
  • Communicates, educates, and collaborates with key stakeholders
  • Ensures documentation is timely, accurate, and to the fullest specificity
  • Works closely with physician leaders, APP Leaders, Nursing leadership, Ancillary leadership, Coding leadership, and Coders
  • Evaluates efforts to improve for both upstream and downstream effects

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing required
  • Masters preferred
  • RN: Registered Nurse License required
  • CCDS (certified clinical documentation specialist) preferred
  • 7-10 years clinical experience as an RN required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in CDI preferred
  • Prior experience in a management role preferred
  • Knowledgeable in elements of medical billing/coding including: APR-DRGs, EAPGs, E/M Coding, and CMS Coding Guidelines preferred
