Faculty Relations Administrator managing diverse faculty relations tasks at Wilfrid Laurier University. Collaborating with various campuses and ensuring compliance with collective agreements across roles.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of duties, including labour relations and administrative support
Accuracy is key for collection, coordinating and maintaining consistency and integrity of University faculty data
Generate compliance reports under the Full-time Faculty and Contract Teaching Faculty (CTF) Collective Agreement
Assist with research on university collective agreements in preparation for negotiations
Monitor Faculty Relations inbox, responding to inquiries using provided templates
Prepare termination acknowledgment letters and employment confirmation letters
Support the ongoing administration of WLUFA collective agreements
Process marking/grading allowances in compliance with the CTF Collective Agreement
Enter faculty data into Banner and support the review of overload contracts
Prepare confidential official files for review by committees and assist with appointment requests
Requirements
University degree in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of two year’s work experience including administration, reporting, and customer service (University environment preferred)
Demonstrated work experience in faculty administration, human resources or a related field including collective agreement interpretation and administration is an asset
Experience working with collective agreements, preferably both WLUFA Full-time and CTF is an asset
Demonstrated high level of customer service and professionalism
Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including accuracy and attention to detail
Proven ability to work independently in organizing and prioritizing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical ability with decision-making skills
Diplomacy, discretion, tact, ability to interact with a wide range of University and external personnel
Excellent problem-solving skills
Considerable working knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Banner (various modules), Word, Excel, and Cognos
Must exude patience and sensitivity to the attitudes & feelings of others
Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, fairness and ethical conduct at all times
Has the highest regard for the sensitivity and confidentiality of information
Adjusts comfortably to the needs of diverse audiences
