About the role

• Senior Lawyer managing tax-related legal matters for Banco Bmg. Overseeing judicial and administrative processes in financial institutions with a focus on tax legislation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and managing the portfolio of judicial and administrative proceedings related to tax matters;
• Oversight of external law firms and management of internal client requests across the bank;
• Preparation of reports for internal and external audits;
• Serve as the legal department’s focal point for tax matters, preparing reports and legal opinions on various issues affecting the financial institution;
• Participate in key meetings with internal and external stakeholders;
• Responsible for monitoring tax case contingencies and reporting to the Coordinator and Executive Manager;
• Prior experience working with financial institutions or handling matters on behalf of banks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law;
• Active membership with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB);
• Experience in tax law practice within financial institutions or acting as legal counsel/procurators for banks;
• Postgraduate degree or MBA in Tax Law;
• Proactive and highly organized;
• Extensive knowledge of tax legislation and the calculation of federal, state and municipal taxes, with ongoing monitoring of administrative and judicial case law and tax ancillary obligations.
