Specialist Process Engineer ensuring potash quality and leading process improvements at BHP. Collaborating with teams to maintain safety protocols and optimize production efficiency.
Responsibilities
Support the development, monitoring, and controlling of systems to ensure the quality of potash produced meets customer specifications.
Lead efforts to diagnose and solve process upsets, recovery losses, quality deviations, and other disruptions.
Support the development, implementation and compliance of process safety protocols.
Monitor and manage reagent and utility consumption.
Collaborate with the laboratory on performance analysis, sampling requirements, sample quality, and instrument validation and calibration.
Initiate, implement, or support process improvement, minor sustaining projects, and ramp-up debottlenecking project.
Understand customer needs and set measurable metrics to drive performance and meet expectations.
Ensure consistent execution of a safe, reliable, and efficient process.
Requirements
Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Process or related Engineering Discipline.
Eligible for registration with APEGS as P. Eng.
5+ years of experience in potash mineral processing.
Valid Saskatchewan or equivalent Driver’s License.
Experience with commissioning/ramp-up is recommended.
Capital project management experience is recommended.
