About the role

  • Enterprise Architect aligning client IT infrastructures with business goals at Amentum. Providing solutions for Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence, and Nuclear market sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse clients’ business strategy and objectives, identifying critical success factors and areas where IT can contribute to achieving them.
  • Evaluate clients’ existing IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components, assessing its effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise architecture models that represent clients’ IT landscapes, including business processes, data flows, and technology components.
  • Formulate long-term IT strategies that align with clients’ business goals and objectives, outlining future investments, initiatives, and technology adoption plans.
  • Guide and oversee IT projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that they align with the enterprise architecture and business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organisation and recommending appropriate adoption strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the clients’ organisation, including executives, business units, and IT teams, to ensure alignment and buy-in.
  • Identify and assess IT-related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance clients’ IT architectures, ensuring that they remains aligned with business needs and adapting to evolving business conditions.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within high-performing teams.
  • Experience working within the UK MOD or Critical National Infrastructure.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working on Defence or CNI IT systems.
  • Desirable qualifications/certifications (any of): TOGAF 9, Unified Architecture Framework, Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA), ArchiMate Certified Expert, IT4IT Foundation, Certified Solution Architect: AWS or Azure.
