About the role
- Manager overseeing project excellence in Alcon’s global R&D portfolio management. Develops standardized processes for project management and partners with project teams for alignment in key objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy standardized project and portfolio management processes, templates, and governance frameworks.
- Build and maintain portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting routines to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with Program Directors and project teams to support adoption of PMDC methodologies and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Lead training, onboarding, and capability-building programs for PMDC roles in collaboration with the Learning and Engagement team.
- Support the rollout and continuous improvement of project management tools and knowledge systems in partnership with IT and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate lessons learned capture, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
- Contribute to the long-term scalability and sustainability of PEC by identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification, and cross-functional alignment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 years of experience in project or program management, preferably in medtech , pharma, or regulated R&D.
- Proven ability to implement PMO capabilities (governance, metrics, training, tools).
- Strong understanding of stage-gate processes, portfolio management, and cross-functional project leadership.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure from scratch.
