Solution Engineer supporting the PDFCreator team with testing and development. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and assisting customer service efforts in Windows environments.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with developers: reproduce issues, track and evaluate bugs, test new features and bug fixes, and document results clearly.
Maintain and optimize test and demo environments.
Ensure PDFCreator runs smoothly across different Windows environments (e.g., Windows Server, RDS/VDI, hybrid setups) by configuring and troubleshooting.
Act as a bridge between teams, clients, and customer service by joining technical calls, gathering requirements, providing guidance, and supporting complex cases.
Requirements
Completed IT apprenticeship or a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in Windows system administration (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, RDSH, Active Directory, Group Policy, VPN).
Experience with desktop applications, ideally including printer/driver solutions.
Deep understanding of Windows printing in domain environments - including integration with non-Windows clients.
Familiarity with testing practices (manual testing, issue reproduction, test case execution).
Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred, Python would be a plus).
Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process and business improvements.
Good communication skills for client and cross-team collaboration.
Proficient in English, with good German skills (sufficient for customer interaction).
