About the role
- Senior Data Engineer joining Overjet's Data Platform team to architect and scale data services. Leading AI-driven healthcare innovations and improving patient health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines to process data from patient management systems
- Conduct research into PMS systems involving data modeling and mapping
- Become a major culture driver for validating all changes in staging before production
- Help drive a culture of data-driven decision-making where releases only happen after all of our functional KPIs have been met
- Regularly scheduled on-call rotations is part of the core job of every engineer on our team
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of data-related experience
- Strong programming skills in Python with the ability to write efficient and maintainable code
- Experience with testing and validation frameworks
- Proficiency in SQL, familiarity with data modeling and database design principles
- Experience working with cloud vendors (GCP/AWS/Azure), especially using infrastructure-as-code software like Terraform
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Experience with Practice Management Systems or electronic health records (EHR) is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standard (e.g. HIPAA) and experience with sensitive patient data is a plus but not required
