About the role
- IT Infrastructure Support Specialist managing Windows Server environments and overseeing VMware ESXi infrastructure. Collaborating with teams to ensure smooth incident resolution and system administration tasks.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring).
- Operate and oversee VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machine infrastructure.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, user/group management, permissions.
- Monitor server health, performance, capacity; respond to alerts, diagnose and resolve incidents.
- Work with backup/recovery solutions, disaster recovery procedures.
- Assist in configuration, management and troubleshooting of infrastructure services (including storage, networking basics, virtualisation platforms).
- Collaborate with service desk, escalation tiers to ensure smooth incident/problem/service request resolution.
- Participate in remote support across clients, ensuring SLA compliance and high customer satisfaction.
- Document infrastructure, changes, run books, and contribute to standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement: automation, tooling, monitoring enhancements, standardisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in infrastructure support / systems administration roles focusing on Windows Servers and virtualisation (VMware ESXi or similar).
- Experience with server monitoring tools, alerting and incident response.
- Ability to operate in managed services context: device-based service model, multiple client environments, standardised processes, documentation.
- Self-starter mindset, good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage workload.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Experienced working in multinational teams, i.e. sensitive of cultural differences and adaptable
- Fluency in English and German (spoken and written)
