Freight Pay Manager managing freight payment processes across global network and leading operational excellence. Responsible for compliance, service provider relationships, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end freight invoice auditing, approval, and payment process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Monitor and resolve exceptions and discrepancies in freight payments, proactively addressing issues to prevent payment delays
Develop and implement standardized procedures for freight payment across all business units and geographies
Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers to ensure service levels are met
Conduct regular performance reviews with providers, addressing quality issues and driving continuous improvement in payment practices
Implement and maintain freight payment systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards
Identify and execute process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Analyze freight payment data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization
Prepare regular reports on freight payment KPIs, financial performance, and compliance metrics to senior leadership
Work closely with Finance, ERP, Procurement, and Logistics teams to align freight payment processes with company objectives
Facilitate effective communication and issue resolution between internal teams and external partners
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards and company policies related to freight payment
Identify and mitigate risks associated with freight payment processes, maintaining robust controls and documentation
Lead multiple cross functional meetings to help ensure prompt payments to provider base
Support calls for business rollout initiatives, providing subject matter expertise and project leadership
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of experience in freight payment, logistics, or related roles
Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated expertise in freight payment systems, invoice management, and process optimization
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
In-depth knowledge of transportation industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
