About the role
- Director of Global Quality defining and executing quality strategy for Tonies. Ensuring compliance with safety and consumer satisfaction standards while leading a global quality team.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute global quality strategy for Tonies products
- Ensure compliance with international regulatory frameworks and toy safety standards
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Tonies’ global Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Establish and enforce quality control processes and inspection protocols
- Lead supplier qualification and performance management
- Ensure global adherence to safety directives and documentation controls
- Monitor customer returns and product performance data to drive CAPA initiatives
- Lead and develop a global quality team
- Manage global quality budget and performance reporting
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical/industrial field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in quality management
- At least 5 years in a leadership role within the toy, consumer electronics, or related industries
- Proven expertise in international regulatory compliance, product safety, and global certification processes
- Strong leadership ability to inspire, mentor, and develop diverse global teams
- Excellent knowledge of international toy safety and consumer electronics standards
- Proficiency in Six Sigma, Lean, TQM methodologies, and supplier quality management
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a strong advantage)
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed
