About the role

• Funds Manager at Worldsensing managing financial projects and external funds from various funding bodies. Collaborating in an international environment with financial compliance oversight and project management.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage external funds received, following internal policies and terms & conditions of the funding bodies
• Provide financial guidance, advice, and support to Project Managers on European Commission projects or projects with funding from other entities
• Support implementation of a high-level system for financial project management of publicly funded projects
• Coordinate acceptance process (administrative and financial internal review) during grant life cycles
• Lead financial management of public funding projects by monitoring budget and expenditures and planning claim time-sheets
• Ensure compliance with financial procedures required by funding entities
• Develop accurate interim and final project reporting for funding entities' inspection
• Produce project reports for Executive Board meetings when requested
• Assist in drafting responses to consultations from funding entities
• Liaise with funding bodies and project coordinators to solve administrative and financial issues
• Provide proactive advice, guidance, and support to Project Managers to maximize cost recovery
• Identify potential risks and propose steps to minimize or eliminate those risks
• Organize audits required on periodic basis and prepare budget-recovery claims
• Encourage internal stakeholders to engage in reporting activities
• Contribute to development and implementation of policies and procedures for financial reporting

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar position
• Demonstrated experience in financial management and reporting of awards from a range of funding bodies (European Commission, Spanish and Catalan government, and other European and international bodies and institutions)
• Familiarity with the EU landscape (policy and Horizon Europe funding)
• Experience and knowledge of EU research funding mechanisms, specifically Horizon Europe including policy, commercial, financial, and sector-based aspects
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and Spanish
• Substantial experience in report development
• Advanced user of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Previous experience in a technological R+D environment is desired
