About the role

  • Reliability Engineer responsible for equipment reliability and safety using data-driven analysis for Wood in Aberdeen. Focus on proactive maintenance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Improving the reliability, integrity, and safety of equipment and systems across operations.
  • Use data-driven analysis, engineering principles, and proactive maintenance strategies to reduce failures, optimize asset life, and support safe, cost-effective operations.
  • Analyze asset performance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain asset reliability models, including criticality assessments and failure mode analysis.
  • Implement reliability centered maintenance (RCM), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and condition monitoring strategies.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance plans to ensure efficient asset care.
  • Recommend maintenance task changes based on reliability insights and operational performance.
  • Support digitalization of maintenance data, KPIs, and dashboards.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and integrity issues.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability, or related)
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles (RCM, FMEA, RCA, reliability modelling)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in CMMS/EAM systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Ability to interpret maintenance and asset performance data
  • Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, or heavy industry.
  • Offshore Certification such as BOSIET.
  • Certification such as CMRP, CRE, or equivalent.
  • Site experience in the introduction and development of reliability processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques.
  • Root Cause Analysis Certification.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
