Responsibilities
Develop engineering designs, including grading plans, utility layouts, stormwater management plans, and roadway geometry, for site plans
Prepare construction documents, plans, specifications, and engineering calculations
Conduct feasibility studies and prepare site assessments and conceptual layouts
Coordinate with office staff to provide timely cost estimates and quotes as necessary
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for site drainage and stormwater design
Evaluate site data to provide design decisions
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, zoning codes, environmental regulations, and permit requirements
Work closely with project managers, architects, planners, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
Coordinate with permitting agencies to obtain approvals and resolve technical issues
Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs
Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to design standards and process improvements
Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to company and industry design standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license (State of Indiana required, Kentucky License is a plus)
Not less than 5–10 years of Civil Site Design experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software
Strong understanding of grading, drainage, hydrology/hydraulics, utility design, and site permitting
Familiarity with local and regional land development regulations and permitting processes
Familiarity with local zoning codes, environmental regulations, and building codes
Experience working directly with site developers and contractors
Ability to adapt quickly to keep projects on schedule
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a Drug Screen
