About the role
- Senior IT Engineer responsible for delivering IT infrastructure and architecture projects. Focused on cloud services, network infrastructure, and operational support in a growth phase.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery across IT workstreams, ensuring technology foundations are implemented effectively and on time.
- Lead deployment of core infrastructure including systems, networks, cloud services, and supporting tooling.
- Execute technical projects across architecture, networking, cloud, security, and infrastructure with minimal oversight.
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based solutions using AWS and/or Azure.
- Support hybrid infrastructure models where required.
- Ensure cloud environments are resilient, appropriately governed, and optimised for long-term performance.
- Architect and implement network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, segmentation, routing and switching.
- Oversee design, setup, and operation of data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualisation and DR/BCP.
- Ensure IT solutions align with operational requirements in service-led, process-heavy settings.
- Maintain alignment with security best practices and compliance expectations relevant to operational/transaction-based environments.
- Assess existing environments, identify gaps, and implement improvements.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in a hands-on IT engineering / specialist role delivering infrastructure and architecture projects.
- Strong generalist delivery experience across: Cloud (AWS/Azure) Network infrastructure design and implementation Data centre setup and operations Security fundamentals and best practices.
- Industry experience in tolling highly desirable, OR experience in back-office / high-availability operational systems.
